Mythical Mountain Bird
THE WEKKEL is a legendary bird that lives on the highest branch of the highest tree atop the highest mountain*.
This 9-eyed avian possesses the tail of a scorpion and sprouts a pair of wings behind its legs. It hunts mountain goats by spitting out its snake tongues, who independently find their prey and paralyze it with their venom. The Wekkel then gorges itself on its victim, swallowing it whole.
At night it sings in vain, hoping to attract a mate. This mating call lasts for hours, and is unbearable: it sounds like a bagpipe being roughed up by a boxer.
