“A chest covered in barf, a tail exuding fragrance“
Stinky rovers
The Tusked Petal-tail
Bloessemwoellefs, or Petal Tails, are rare canids who roam the heaths of Kroosse.
The Petal-tail’s high-pitched barks can often be heard echoing through highland meadows as they tell eachother of their small-time adventures.
Opportunistic and curious by nature, these small scavengers have a penchant for stealing and hiding shiny things, a tendency that often puts them at odds with the magpies. Their tusks -while seemingly ferocious- are only used to dig up roots and truffels or to reach some small critter’s nest.
Although very set on their personal space, conflicts are rare: carefully placed barf-puddles make it very clear where one pungent territory ends and another begins. Come springtime however, the hormone-filled fragrances emitted by their ‘blossoming’ tail start to overpower all other scent.
As a result, locals have described Petal Tail mating season as ‘an indescribable mix of sex & violence‘.
Notes
…on the meadow — Petal-tails prefer to roam fallow fields and quiet meadows near rural villages.
