Slow and steady
The Baarddemod is a land-dwelling fish who spends most of his time crawling through the underbrush of pine forests, feeding on roots, mushrooms and truffles. His scales are a popular hiding spot for all kinds of bugs and this in turn makes this burly bass a mobile snack bar to a wide variety of bird species.
Once every 9 years the Baarddemod sets out on his long trudge towards the sea, to drop off the hardshelled eggs that sprout spontaneously from his back. Cleverly hidden along rocky beaches, these eggs can take several decades to hatch.
