The Clumsy-quatl
The Flopslangge, or Flopping Snakerelle, lifts its upper body off the ground by flapping a pair of short powerful wings, then pushes forward with its tail. This shrieking thing can gather a lot of speed but once it halts it will inevitably faceplant, making a distinctive ‘Flop!‘ sound. I guess you could call it a flying snake, although people mostly refer to them as ‘dropworms’.
Snakerelles prefer to dwell in regions with man-high vegetation, like rainy valleys crowded with ferns, crop-fields and scrubland*.
